Best for
- Reducing token usage when agents explore large codebases
- Tracing call graphs, impact analysis and dead code detection via MCP tools
- Getting oriented in unfamiliar or inherited codebases
- Teams using multiple agents such as Claude Code, Codex and OpenCode

Our take
Single static C binary with vendored tree-sitter grammars for 162 languages, 17 MCP tools, and Hybrid LSP type resolution for about a dozen languages; runs fully locally with no API key. Token savings figures come from the project's own benchmarks and preprint, which also reports lower answer-quality scores (83% vs 92%) than file-by-file exploration. The CBM Lens Beta UI is only on main and requires building from source, and the installer auto-configures detected agents unless --skip-config is used.
